~ 80 PROOF ALICE ~ 

The name alone peeks your interest… And we’ll explain it at the end of this bio. 

A bluegrass band from Hays, Kansas, 80 Proof Alice is the Winner of our 6th Annual Website Promotional Contest!!! Congrats!!

They have performed at many venues and festivals since 2023. Just to name a few, the Walnut Valley Festival (Winfield, Kansas) - International Fiddling Contest, Pickin on Picnic Festival (St Claire, MO), and The Wave, in Wichita, Kansas, - where they recorded their first full live album! 

The members of 80 Proof Alice have been together since 2023. Comprised of a couple, Aimee and Jason, they join Tyson as a trio. Inspired by Dave Mathews, Molly Tuttle, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and even Megadeath, 80 Proof Alice play a variety of songs. Their favorite covers to perform are ~ ‘White Rabbit’, and ‘Money for Nothing’ as well as their original song “Daughters”. 
Both their Live Album and song “Daughters” are on all streaming platforms for your enjoyment!

80 Proof Alice has immersed themselves in the Bluegrass community which has a strong bond ! We thank them for participating in our 6th Annual Competition and are excited for their future! 

Back to that name ~ 80 Proof Alice! Jason & Aimee of the band have a friend that’s a nurse. One night she was having a really, really good time drinking some really strong moonshine. They dubbed it, 80 proof moonshine and told her she was 80 Proof. Her name, Alice. She is like a Matriarch of the family, who usually never drinks, but that night, she was 80 Proof! Cheers to Alice!
